Applicants may apply to one or more of the following position openings if their specialization fits more than one position announcement.
Assistant Professor – African American Studies and Psychology
This joint appointment in Psychology and African American Studies is open to any area of specialization. Faculty hired in this position will teach graduate and undergraduate courses (including a to-be-developed cross-listed course in Black Psychology) and supervise graduate students in their research. If the successful candidate’s area is clinical psychology, they would also be expected to provide clinical supervision for graduate students and obtain licensure. The tenure-granting department will be Psychology, with teaching duties split between the two departments based on needs. This position is part of the College of Liberal Art Cluster Hire Initiative.
Assistant Professor – Developmental Psychology
The area of specialization in Developmental Psychology is open, and we welcome applications from individuals trained in any area of lifespan development. The new faculty member will have the opportunity to complement existing faculty expertise in developmental as well as clinical, cognitive and social psychology. Faculty hired in this position will teach graduate and undergraduate courses and supervise graduate students in their research.
Assistant Professor – Clinical Psychology
The area of specialization in Clinical Psychology is open. Our clinical psychology graduate program is a leading producer of PhDs in the College of Liberal Arts and has been continually accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1973. We adhere to a scientist-practitioner model of training, and Mississippi provides a rich environment for advancing state-of-the-science research and clinical training in surrounding underserved communities. Faculty hired in this position will teach graduate and undergraduate courses, supervise graduate students in their research, and supervise clinical graduate students in their clinical practicum work. Successful applicants should be committed to evidence-based practice and intend to pursue licensure in Mississippi.
Instructional Assistant Professor – Behavior Analysis
