Adolescent Ethnic-Racial Identity Development (AERID) Lab, Stanford University
The Adolescent Ethnic-Racial Identity Development (AERID) Lab, under the supervision of Dr. Adriana Umaña-Taylor at the Stanford Graduate School of Education, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow who will contribute to building a new initiative focused on Identity and Positive Youth Development Across the Globe. The central focus of this initiative is to identify universal and context-specific identity-based strengths and to disseminate evidence-based programs that promote positive youth development in the context of ethnoracially stratified societies. Projects will include collaborations with colleagues throughout the Global South and Europe (e.g., Colombia, Brazil, Germany, Italy) to advance basic research and translational science related to the Identity Project – a school-based curriculum targeting adolescents’ ethnic-racial identity development. In addition to advancing cross-cultural adaptations of the Identity Project, our team will be engaged in further efficacy and effectiveness testing of the Identity Project and the E4 Teacher Professional Development program in the United States – identifying feasible and effective strategies to support educators as they prepare to implement programs such as the Identity Project in their schools.
