We invite you to attend the next instalment of the AIM Collective’s webinar series: Collective Conversations. Join us January 29th at 5pm on Zoom with Dr. Hanna Wickstrom. The format for these webinars is a pre-recorded talk by the speaker, which you can watch before the scheduled webinar. The pre-recorded talk is Dr. Wickstrom’s presentation on Play Based Learning and Math Development at the Canadian Early Mathematics Education Conference.

We encourage you to watch her talk and join us online for the Collective Conversation. All the information about the webinar is available here: https://www.aimcollective.ca/webinar-2-hw

More about Dr. Wickstrom:

Dr. Wickstrom is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Education at Lakehead University. She is particularly interested in early years education and classroom-based research. Her research addresses how educators can support critical foundational mathematics skills through teacher-facilitated play. She is also an experienced primary education classroom teacher.

Meet Dr. Hanna Wickstrom and ask questions about her talk or her other research in the Collective Conversations Webinar Series, January 29th, at 5 pm on Zoom.

The first webinar featured Dr. Zachary Hawes from OISE at the University of Toronto on spatial thinking. The recording of the webinar is available for viewing. More information here: https://www.aimcollective.ca/webinar-1-zh

More about the series:

This series is different from usual academic talks, which are not necessarily of much interest or relevance to the general public. With this series we want to highlight recent math cognition and education psychology research and share evidence-based practices for math instruction with math educators. Content will be research based but practitioner focused, so that it is accessible to teachers and parents.

Prior to the Q&A webinar that we will host on zoom, we distribute a video that potential attendees should watch before the scheduled webinar. A message will be sent to the AIM mailing list. You can sign up for the mailing list on our website.

The zoom webinar is intended to give the researcher and viewers a chance to interact. The zoom portion of the webinar will be a 45-minute session. Viewers will submit questions about the recorded talk and/or about the speaker’s other work. We will take question submissions before the talk, as well as taking live questions in the chat. These webinar sessions will be recorded and then posted to our YouTube channel and website for those who could not attend synchronously.
