Department of Psychology, Pacific Lutheran University
The Department of Psychology at Pacific Lutheran University (Tacoma, WA) invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2025. The department has needs in two broad areas and will fill one of the following positions this cycle, anticipating that the second position will be filled in a future hiring cycle:
- Developmental Psychologist with a primary interest in teaching Statistics and Research Methods and Lifespan Development. Additionally, candidates should be able to contribute course offerings in their specialty as well as teach PSYC 101 and capstone, and expand our offerings of courses related to sustainability or diversity and justice.
OR
- Clinical or Counseling Psychologist with interest in teaching courses focused on psychopathology and treatment (Clinical Psychology I & II in our curriculum). Candidates should be able to contribute course offerings in their specialty as well as teach PSYC 101 and capstone and expand our offerings of courses related to sustainability or diversity and justice. Preference will be given to candidates who have an interest in teaching Statistics and Research Methods, but this is not required.
In each case, we seek candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusivity and diversity in teaching and scholarship. Candidates should have enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in a liberal arts environment as well as plans for a research program that can support undergraduate-level involvement.
