Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research – Jewish General Hospital

We are seeking a dynamic individual with a Developmental Neuroscience (genetics, neuroimaging) background who is well versed in large-scale statistical modelling.

The (Developmental Research in Early Adversity Mental health BIological susceptibility and Gender (DREAM BIG) consortium is a multi-site cohort across multiple countries (Canada, UK, Netherlands, Singapore, Norway, Finland, Australia) led by Dr Ashley Wazana at the lady Davis institute – Jewish General Hospital. We seek to better understand the impact of prenatal adversity and genetics on development from birth to adulthood. Our interests thus lie in the intersections of genes and environments and their interaction (Gene-by-Environment interactions). Our team in Montreal consists of a mixture of M.Sc., Ph.D., and Postdoc McGill students working alongside various Physicians and Researchers from McGill and other Canadian and international universities. The lab is academic-oriented with a focus on the theory of child and lifespan development, but always with the goal of translating that research into future policies that can improve mental health resources for mothers and their children. For more information on our team, see our website: http://dreambigresearch.com.

The DREAM BIG database consists of behavioral (parent- and self-report questionnaires, parent- and self-report interviews, videotaped dyadic interactions), genetics (candidate genes, GWAS), and neuroimaging. We are currently assessing: i) our Canadian cohort (Mental health in Adulthood: VAriability in Neurodevelopment and Resilience – MAVAN-R) in early adulthood (questionnaires, interviews) for psychopathology and wellbeing; and ii) community-based focus groups on mental health.

Flexible working hours with both in-person (Centre for Child Development and Mental Health at the Lady Davis Institute – Jewish General Hospital) and remote working conditions with a significant level of autonomy.
