IDD Research in Culturally Diverse Populations

The ARRT Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is seeking post-doctoral trainees interested in research on intellectual and developmental disabilities in racially and ethnically diverse communities.

The Program is housed in the Texas Center for Disability Studies (TCDS) at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work (SHSSSW) at the University of Texas at Austin and includes:

  1. Understanding the ethical conduct in research
  2. Developing and building an independent program of research
  3. Gaining substantive knowledge about autism and IDD research in diverse communities
  4. Gaining knowledge and skills in inclusive research methods in diverse communities
  5. Building capacity to disseminate findings to varied audiences, including the scientific and disability communities
  6. Building capacity to write and submit grants for research findings
  7. Developing career opportunities

Postdoctoral fellows are supported by an accomplished team of primary and secondary mentors with a range of research opportunities related to autism/IDD and other disabilities, underserved communities, and/or racial and ethnic inequities. Postdoctoral fellows will be provided a laptop, office space, travel funds and other resources.
