Autism, Brown University/University of Missouri/Rutgers University

We invite applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship in autism and developmental disabilities as part of an NIH-funded project examining alcohol and substance use experiences in autistic adolescents and young adults. The fellowship is an outstanding opportunity to participate in an interdisciplinary, multi-site study team. The investigative team includes multiple PI’s at Brown University (Tony Spirito, PhD), University of Missouri (Stephen Sheinkopf, PhD), and Rutgers University (Kristina Jackson, PhD).  Uniquely, this means that the fellow could reside in any of the 3 study locations (Providence, RI, Columbia, MO or New Brunswick, NJ). The successful applicant would participate in a range of study activities and receive training in the areas of autism and substance use in adolescents and young adults. This position is appropriate for trainees seeking to expand and broaden their skills set (for example, autism researchers expanding into work on substance use and mental health outcomes, or vice versa). There will be ample opportunity to participate in data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. Applicants with strong data analysis and writing skills would be especially competitive for this opportunity. Each of the potential locations have strong cultures of academic inquiry and training that support professional development.  Opportunities for clinical training are also available but would be an optional component of this fellowship.

Applicants should send their CV and a statement of interest to kelli_birch@brown.edu
