We are excited to announce the opening of a non-tenure track Assistant Research Professor position at the USC Center for Affective Neuroscience, Development, Learning and Education (USC CANDLE), a center of the USC Rossier School of Education and housed at the Brain and Creativity Institute.
This role offers a unique opportunity for a dynamic and innovative researcher to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge research that bridges educational innovation and developmental affective neuroscience. The successful candidate will have extensive opportunities to collaborate closely with CANDLE’s founding director, Dr. Mary Helen Immordino-Yang, and CANDLE’s interdisciplinary team, playing a key role in shaping the direction of our research and co-authoring publications.
We are preparing to launch a new multi-year longitudinal study focused on adolescents’ psychosocial and neural development in the context of schooling, and we welcome candidates eager to incorporate their own measures and analyses into this work. Additionally, there are exciting opportunities to engage in ongoing research with secondary teachers, including projects on professional development and in-school implementation, for those interested in applied educational settings.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in cognitive/social/affective neuroscience, developmental psychology, education, or a related field.
- Developing record of relevant publications with a focus on adolescence.
- Relevant experience consistent with the applicant’s specialty.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams, youth, and schools, especially those serving low-SES minority populations, would be an asset.
