Department of Psychology Science, Kennesaw State University
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Psychology in the Department of Psychology Science with a preferred start date of August 2025. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty. The total workload distribution is 90% teaching and 10% service, which is equivalent to 27 credit hours per academic year.The area of specialization is open.
Lecturers will be expected to…
- Teach courses required in the psychology major, such as introduction to general psychology, careers in psychology, research methods, statistics, and/or senior seminar.
- Teach courses within one of the Areas in the KSU psychology major, including the Diversity Area, Personality and Social Area, Biological Bases Area, or Learning and Cognition Area.
- Teach a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses as needed by the department.
- Engage in service to the department, college, and/or university.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Psychology or a closely related discipline is required.
OR - A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses in introduction to general psychology, careers in psychology, research methods, statistics, and/or senior seminar.
- Experience teaching courses in one of the Areas within the KSU psychology major, including the Diversity Area, Personality and Social Area, Biological Bases Area, or Learning and Cognition Area.
- Experience teaching in multiple modalities, including in-person, hybrid, and online asynchronous.
- Demonstrated excellence in course design and delivery.
