Cognition in Intellectual Disability – A Big Team Science Project, Linköping University (Sweden)

Marta Topor and Henrik Danielsson at Linköping University in Sweden are excited to announce the CO-IND Project – a new big team science effort focused on Cognition and Intellectual Disability.

The format of the project is such that researchers from different labs in different countries work together to answer the same research questions with the same protocol. All elements of the project, from its very conception, have been driven by collaborative efforts of experts in the field. The field of research on intellectual disability faces the issues of methodological heterogeneity and low statistical power. With this new approach, we are able to overcome these barriers and conduct a study that will have a real impact on the field’s development and future direction.

We are currently working on the preparation of the protocol, and we are recruiting research groups who will collect data and who might be interested in getting involved in some other project related tasks as well. Joining research groups will also have a chance to propose exploratory research questions and additional measures depending on their specific interests.

We would like to reach as many research groups who work in this field as possible. So fell free to pass this invitation along.
