Cannabis
Cannabis, the flagship journal of the Research Society on Marijuana, will be considering papers for an upcoming special issue on perinatal cannabis use. Perinatal cannabis use has become an increasingly important area of research. Understanding the complexities of cannabis use during pregnancy and postpartum is critical for informing clinical practice, public health policy, and intervention efforts. Drs. Lauren Micalizzi and Rachel Gunn from Brown University will co-edit this special issue.
We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Patterns and trajectories of cannabis use during pregnancy and postpartum
- Motivations for and perceived benefits of perinatal cannabis use
- Social, cultural, and structural factors influencing cannabis use in pregnancy and postpartum
- The role of maternal mental and physical health, trauma, and stress in cannabis use decisions
- Health care provider perspectives and approaches to discussing perinatal cannabis use
- Public health messaging, harm reduction, and intervention strategies
- Legal and policy considerations related to cannabis use in pregnancy and parenting
- Ethical considerations in research and policy on perinatal cannabis use
- Methodological considerations in studying perinatal cannabis use and exposure
