Current Psychology

I would like to bring to your attention a Special Issue currently open for submissions in Current Psychology (Springer). The issue is titled “Attachment Across Adulthood and Aging: Developmental Trajectories, Mechanisms, and Adaptive Processes”, and I am serving as Guest Editor alongside Dr. Deborah Bailey-Rodriguez (Middlesex University, London) and Prof. Ana Fritzhand (Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje).

The Special Issue aims to promote a lifespan perspective on attachment by bringing together empirical, theoretical, and integrative contributions that examine how attachment-related processes evolve from emerging adulthood through midlife and into older age. Topics of interest include continuity and change in attachment representations, the mechanisms linking attachment to psychological adjustment and well-being, contextual and cross-cultural influences, and adaptive processes in response to major life transitions such as parenthood, caregiving, partnership changes, retirement, and bereavement. Multidisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives are especially encouraged.

Empirical studies (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods), longitudinal designs, meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and theoretical papers are all welcome.

The submission deadline is December 1, 2026. Full details about the scope, topics, and submission guidelines are available at the Special Issue page: https://link.springer.com/journal/12144/updates/27848954

If you are working on research that fits within the themes of this Special Issue and would like more information before submitting, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Best regards,
