Dear Colleagues,
I’m delighted to share that the new APA journal, Applied Studies in Emerging Adulthood, is now accepting submissions for its inaugural issue. The journal, developed in collaboration with the Society for the Study of Emerging Adulthood, will launch as a companion to SSEA’s flagship journal, Emerging Adulthood, with a distinct focus on applied research, practice, policy, and intervention relevant to emerging adults (ages 18–29).
Applied Studies in Emerging Adulthood is designed to bridge developmental theory and real-world application. We seek manuscripts that demonstrate how research on emerging adulthood can inform, and be informed by, practice, programs, and policy across diverse contexts.

· Education and career development
· Family and romantic relationships
· Technology and AI
· Disability and chronic health conditions
· Criminal justice involvement
· Health and wellness
· Financial well-being
Interdisciplinary and international perspectives are welcome.
The journal will publish applied empirical studies on critical practice issues, applied theoretical papers, conceptual reviews, case reports, developments in prevention and intervention, and international collaborations.
We are now inviting submissions for our inaugural issue and would be very pleased to consider your work. Authors whose manuscripts are accepted for the inaugural issue will benefit from enhanced visibility as founding contributors to this new journal.
I hope you’ll see Applied Studies in Emerging Adulthood as a home for research that is both theoretically grounded and meaningfully applied. Please feel free to share this announcement with colleagues who may be interested.
