Association for Psychological Science

On behalf of the James McKeen Cattell Fund, APS is pleased to announce a call for applications for the James McKeen Cattell Sabbatical Award.

For over half a century, the James McKeen Cattell Fund has provided support for the science and the application of psychology. The Fund offers a program of sabbatical awards that supplement the regular sabbatical allowance provided by the recipients’ home institutions to allow an extension of leave-time from one to two semesters.

All materials must be received by January 15th, 2026.

Application Instructions:

  1. All application materials must be submitted online via APS’s secure portal, found here.
  2. Do not mail materials. If you have technical difficulties with the website, please email grants@psychologicalscience.org.
  3. Institutional Certification: Click Here for the required institutional certification form that is to be completed by your department chair or dean. However, it is your responsibility to inform your recommenders that the email from us is forthcoming and to make sure that they have submitted their recommendation by our due date.
  5. All materials (including recommendations) must be uploaded by January 15, 2026.

If we are missing materials from your application, we will send you one reminder just after the deadline.
